This week the LIFX team sent me some of their awesome wifi LED smart lights to play with – and oh boy, did I have a good time! Not only is smart LED lighting much more environmentally friendly, in my opinion it can make a HUGE difference to a space.
I’ve set up my LIFX lights in my home office, also known as my studio, which is the space where I livestream to Twitch. Perks of having a handsome developer boyfriend meant I could take things one step further – allowing Twitch chat to control the colour of the LIFX Z Strip running cross my bookshelf!
I tested this out for the first time this past weekend in a 12hr charity stream I was participating in, with excellent results! If you look closely on the left you’ll see that folks in chat are able to use a !zstrip [colour] command to change the lighting colour.
